Designers taking part in the campaign include Dolce & Gabbana who are dressing Daisy Duck, Balenciaga who are dressing Mickey, Nina Ricci for Snow White and Balmain for Goofy; a high-end fashion makeover many people would die for.
Dennis Freedman, Barneys creative director, said: "The
important thing to me was always that it had to be authentic. It really had to
hit the nail on the head in every detail. This is a lot of fun.”
Freedman also admitted that last year’s Lady Gaga Christmas grotto
was a hard act to follow.
The characters will appear as still images alongside a short
film focussing on Minnie Mouse’s dream of being in the front row at a fashion
show with her designs being modelled on the catwalk by her
Disney counterparts.
This collaboration is one of many for Disney this year as
they have partnered with Harrods for a Christmas display as well as Minnie
acting as a muse for a range of different London Fashion Week designers. This
campaign is a perfect way to end a very fashionable year for Disney.
The campaign will launch on November 14th with a
three-dimensional light show to pay tribute to the famous electric parades.
