IPhone VS Blackberry

Will there ever be a phone created that will knock the IPhone’s and Blackberry’s off the top spot? It seems that in the last few years, as everyone is beginning to ditch their trusty Samsung’s, the debate on which phone to buy next never stems further that an IPhone or Blackberry, this became obvious through the hundreds of Facebook statuses that simply read ‘Blackberry or IPhone?’ followed by a huge response that only just swayed towards the IPhone.
But why are we so keen to give up a phone that has a battery that lasts up to a week in one charge, can be thrown around without smashing and even allows us to play Snake? There is no other answer than to keep up with the rest of the world. Nowadays the only excuse for owning an Alcatel or Nokia 3310 is for a backup when (I say when because it will happen) the IPhone breaks.
I, myself am the proud owner of a Blackberry but as my contract is coming to an end, the decision whether to upgrade to another Blackberry or an IPhone is looming. BBM has sadly become part of my social networking regime and I cannot imagine not having it, but the temptation to ditch it for Temple Run and Fruit Ninja is becoming all too much. The thought of HTC or any other phone that is attempting to climb up the fashionable phone ladder hasn’t even crossed my mind, even if it match’s the IPhone in apps and with touch screen, it still isn’t the real thing.
The future of the mobile phone is unknown; I mean God knows what they will do next. They are slowly overtaking humans in knowledge, memory and functionality; they’ll be taking our jobs next!
